Call for Volunteers: 2023 Fall Planting Day

Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, 10 am to noon

On Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, we will plant about 10 young ornamental cherry trees in North Park, north of the tennis courts. We would love to have your help! Besides the physically demanding work of planting, there are lighter tree care tasks too. Meet at or before 10 am at our tool shed across from the tennis courts on Tennis Court Dr.

Please register in advance via email to sakurapghboard@gmail.com Planting is done rain or shine, but in case of dangerous weather, check for a Facebook post before you leave home on Saturday morning. Before volunteering you must read the PSP Volunteer Handbook and agree to comply with the policies therein. For more information about Volunteering, click here.

Upcoming Volunteer Work Sessions!

You know the saying, April showers bring May … weeds. We will be doing tree maintenance together on the following days, from 10 am to roughly noon. Come help the trees, meet some nice people outdoors, and enjoy light refreshments after the work.

The 2023 North Park Cherry Blossom Season is Now! (04/06/2023); Learn about the project and meet board members, on Saturday, April 15, 1 pm to 3 pm

On a rainy Thursday morning, April 6, 2023, the blossoms are bursting open!

We hope you can visit North Park in the near future to enjoy the blossoms. The Okame cherries bloomed first, as usual, and are still pretty. Now the Autumnalis (in the foreground) and Accolade (across the lake, background) are taking their turn, with help from the white Yoshino, Snow Goose, and Akebono cherries (not pictured).

Board members will be eager to talk with you when you stop by our table on Saturday, April 15, from 1 pm to 3 pm. Look for us on Tennis Court Rd., across from the Latrobe Shelter, provided that the weather is fair! Check our Facebook page for updates and many, many photos!
